Janet Lee Incerto passed from this life on October 17, 2024, at home in Clear Lake City and surrounded by family who loved her dearly.  She will be sincerely missed by her large family, many of whom were able to visit her during her last days, as well as her wide network of good friends.  Jan was born in 1933, in Akron, Ohio, to Ward and Ada Spence.  She and her parents and sister Marilyn moved to Norwalk, Connecticut when Jan was 8 years old. Jan attended Connecticut Teachers College and then moved to Maryland in 1954 after marrying her husband, Donald Joseph Incerto, so that Don could pursue a career as an engineer, first with the U.S. Naval Air Station at Patuxent River.  In 1961, Don took a job as an aerospace engineer with NASA and the family moved temporarily to Hampton, Virginia, before settling in Houston, Texas, where they raised their family and have resided since 1962.

In addition to being survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Jan is survived by daughter Debra Lancaster and her husband Mark of Clear Lake City; son Scott Incerto and his wife Kathy of Spicewood, Texas; and son Timothy and his wife Kathy of Hinsdale, Illinois.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren:  Mark Lancaster (and wife Paula), Jason Lancaster (and wife Laura), Patrick Incerto (and wife Emily), Michael Incerto, Andrew Incerto, Rob Incerto and Jackie Incerto; and by eight great-grandchildren: Mark III and Mallory  Lancaster; Reagan, Rylan, Reid and Rynlie Lancaster; and Weldon and Stevie Incerto.

Jan will be remembered by all who knew her for her cheerful and generous spirit and her enjoyment of life, and especially of extensive travel and good food. She was a life time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was a long-time member of Houston Assembly of Delphian Chapters.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Jan on October 25, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd., Webster, Texas 77598.  Immediately preceding the memorial service, beginning at 10 am, there will be a visitation period.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests those wishing to make a memorial donation do so to Helping Hand Home for Children, Austin, Texas, or to the charity of one’s choice.
