Dorothy Marie Yancey
Dorothy Marie Yancey, of Houston Texas, passed away at the age of 89, on Wednesday, June 12th, surrounded by family.
Dorothy was born in Louisville, KY and was preceded in death by her parents; Thelma Christine Gray and Robert Monroe Pinson, and her brother; Dr. Robert L. Pinson and son; Jimmy Wayne Lawler.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Lynn Labardini; her grandchildren, Jennifer Farley, Cliff Lawler, Anthony Labardini, Michelle Buckner, and Bridget Lawler; as well as 7 great grandchildren.
Dot, as she was known by to her friends and co-workers, spent most of her adult life as Real Estate Broker and Agent in the Channelview area. After retiring from real estate, she moved to Clear Lake and spent most of her time on volunteering at the Deke Slayton Cancer center as well as other organizations. Having been a two-time breast cancer survivor herself and most recently diagnosed with lung cancer, she loved being able to help others, but her life’s passions were dancing, traveling and spending time with her family.
Dorothy did not want a funeral, instead she wanted to be cremated and to have her ashes scattered in Clear Lake, surrounded by family. The family plans to meet in November to honor those wishes.
