Leslie ‘Les’ Alton Smith
Leslie ‘Les’ Alton Smith, 46, passed away on September 18, 2024. He was born on July 30, 1978 in Houston, Texas to Claresa Smith.
As a young man, Leslie made Sandypoint, Texas his home, where he was lured to the cowboy way of life. Les found joy in horses and found he had a unique way with them. He was undoubtedly a ‘horse whisperer’. You would often find him in an arena or pasture doing what he enjoyed most.
Leslie was well liked and admired. To know Leslie was to love him. Leslie never met a stranger or a person he could not start a conversation with. He had an infectious smile that he always wore and sense of humor that would leave your cheeks hurting.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving father, Amos Goods Jr., godchildren, Cassidy Arceneaux and Clay Arceneaux, and many friends he called brothers and sisters.
Leslie is preceded in death by his grandmother, Doris Lee Thigpen, and mother, Claresa Smith.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Bailey, Shawn Belknap, Justin Bingham, Clayton Brewer, Eric Arceneaux, Johnny Davis, Cedric Cooks, Billy Sasser, and Faron Key. Honorary Pallbearers will be Boots Graham, Casey Graham, Braedyn Bailey, Brandon Hall, Hook Kindle, Ruben Gonzalez, Raylon Randall, John Arceneaux, Donald Johnson, Neal Jordan, Jamarian Crawford, Blaine Belknap, Bryce Belknap, Tyler Moon, Diyrell Jose, Bradley Jackson, Elliot Thomas, Carlos Garcia, Tim Chaney, Jonas Colman, and Erik Harris.
Cowboy’s last ride. Saddle up, Cowboy. This was truly your life. Loving the horses and always loving to ride. You sat tall in that saddle and you rode so well. You were one true Cowboy, this anyone could tell. Your Cowboy hat, you wore it with pride. These Cowboy boots walked many a mile. Now your life on Earth is over, God has plans for you. So saddle up, Cowboy, this will be a journey for you. God will lead you up to Heaven, and he will ride to your side. So once again; saddle up, Cowboy. It’s time for your final ride.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 9-10 AM, with the service beginning at 10:00 AM, at the Brazoria County Fairgrounds Arena, 901 S Downing St, Angleton, TX 77515. Graveside to follow at Pilgrims, Knights and Daughters Cemetery in Rosharon, Texas.
