David H. Litzinger passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Dave was born January 14, 1953, in Lafayette, Louisianna to parents Charles B. Litzinger and Shirley M. Litzinger (Horner).  Dave attended Glenbard North High School, in Carol Stream, IL, class of 1971. He loved sports being very athletic. He excelled at football and received a full ride scholarship to Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Dave loved getting together with friends and family cooking something on the grill.  Dave loved to entertain helping host the annual Litzinger Christmas party. Legendary stories were created throughout the years from those parties   He also loved to fish and enjoyed trips to Northern Minnesota where we had a cabin.    In 1985, Dave gave a kidney as the gift of life to his brother Karl F. Litzinger who suffered from Juvenile Diabetes.   Dave traveled the world working in the reinsurance industry. Although he thought he was a scratch golfer, his scorecard reflected a different outcome. He loved hitting the course with friends early in the morning, sometimes before the sunrise.     Dave’s bigger than life personality was his calling card. He was very generous and would give you the proverbial shirt off his back.  Dave was preceded in his death by his parents Charles and Shirley Litzinger and his brother Karl Litzinger.

Dave is survived by his sisters Kristin Jackson (Randy), Heidi Rapp (Jim), and brother Eric Litzinger (Debbie) as well as many nieces and nephews.  Dave asked that his ashes be spread in the same lake in northern Minnesota where our mother’s ashes were spread. May you rest in eternal peace.
