Elizabeth Lee Amelang
Elizabeth Lee Amelang, 72, of Alvin TX. passed away on September 5th , 2024. She was born June 6th , 1952 to Walter and Lee Ora Amelang, in Houston TX. She graduated with an Associate Degree in from University of Houston and had subsequent training in Computer Technology from College of the Mainland in Texas City., Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lee Ora Amelang. Elizabeth is survived by her brother Eric Amelang and his wife Mary Ann. Elizabeth in addition had two nephews, Travis Eric Amelang and Nicholas Walter Amelang. Elizabeth was a native Houstonian and grew up in the West University area of Houston. She attended school at Mark Twain Elementary, Pershing Junior High and graduated from Lamar High School in 1971. She sang in the Mixed Chorus at Lamar and enjoyed being a part of that singing group. She later attended University of Houston downtown campus and received an Associate of Arts degree after 2 years of study. She received computer training in classes at the College of the Mainland. Elizabeth worked in various office and retail establishments but her main vocation was the nursing care of her mother, Lee Ora, who suffered a stroke in the early 70’s. Her devotion to her mother and her gentle soul was something that characterized the rest of her life. Everyone whom she met realized the warmth she had for people and especially for her cat Charlie. Following her mother’s passing in 1990 she moved into a supervised living apartment in Alvin, Texas where she lived till her passing. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary or a holiday and brought her mother to as many of her nephews sporting events as she could. We will miss her and her kindness.
Service will be held, 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 16th‘ 2024 at St. Helen Catholic Church 2209 Old Alvin Rd Pearland TX 77581 with burial to follow at Forest Park Lawndale.

Elizabeth was my cousin. We had some good times at the family card parties and occasional phone calls. I remember her parents Uncle Walter and Aunt Lee Ora and the great times I had with them. I will wee you again someday, Elizabeth. And Charlie too.
