Karen June Steiner Bauszus
Karen June Steiner Bauszus passed away on August 23, 2024 in League City, Texas.
She was born June 30, 1945 on her mother’s twentieth birthday in Chico, CA. Most of her childhood was spent on the family farm in Bath, Ohio where she took advantage of the open countryside to ride her horses. She attended Otterbein College before heading to Denver to pursue her working career. She did spend a few years in La Paz, Bolivia before settling in the Houston area. She retired after many years with the City of Houston, primarily in the Mayor’s Office.
Karen and her husband of twenty-two years, Hans Uhlrich Bauszus, loved to cruise and they travelled extensively. She was very fond of her dogs and her cat and of course horses. Karen was an avid reader, appreciated and collected artwork, and was an excellent and creative baker. She also enjoyed singing, watching Hallmark movies and “oldies” TV. Her greatest love though was “Uli”, her devoted and loving husband.
Karen is preceded in death by her grandparents, father and stepfather. She is survived by her husband, Hans, mother (Doris Rabe, 99 years), stepmother (Beverly Steiner) and her siblings – the Fab Five – Eric Steiner (Jamie), Terry Steiner (Llanda Richardson), Kristine Hess (Tom) and Kathe Goff (Lyman). She came from a wonderful and loving family with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and step-siblings who will miss her dearly and are so grateful that she has found comfort and peace.
