Judy Gayle Adkins
Judy Gayle Adkins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on May 31, 1946, in Columbia, Missouri to William Martin and Maxine Ruby Starke. Judy lived a life filled with love, warmth, and dedication to her family and her beloved dog Sophie.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Larry Adkins, who stood by her side through life’s journey. She was the proud mother of two daughters, Michelle Miller and Melissa Adkins, who were the center of her world. Judy adored her granddaughters Alyssa Miller, Kelsey Adkins, Samantha Miller, and Cameron Miller, finding immense joy in their accomplishments and milestones.
A passionate gardener and artist, Judy found solace and happiness in her garden, where she could be found tending to her flowers and vegetables daily. Her green thumb and the beauty she cultivated brought joy to all who visited her home. Judy’s culinary talents were unmatched; she was renowned for her delicious meals and her warm hospitality. Her home was always open, and she welcomed guests with open arms.
Despite living in a digital age, Judy was known for her distaste for technology, particularly her smart phone, which she often joked about replacing with her beloved flip phone. Her nostalgia for simpler times endeared her to those around her and reminded everyone of her timeless spirit.
Above all, Judy was a woman of immense pride in her family. She spoke fondly of her daughters and granddaughters, beaming with pride at their achievements and the individuals they had become. Her love and support knew no bounds, and her legacy of family values and unconditional love will forever be cherished.
Judy Gayle Adkins touched the lives of many with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Rest in peace, dear Judy. Your memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved you.

Oh my cousin, Judy, your cousin , Betty, who admired you as a kid growing up and as an adult! She was 7 years older than I, but how much fun we had growing up together laughing and talking. You were always a bundle of fun laughing and joking and loving family times together. I loved how you had two sisters to share life together. Kinda jealous cause I had no sisters.
You had a wonderful life with your Larry and children. You will be terribly missed and looking forward to seeing you in heaven!

Dear Larry and girls, we are in shock. I talked to Judy on the third and she was her usual fun, upbeat self. One always thinks there should be more time! We send our heartfelt condolences and prayers for Judy and for all of you. Judy has been such an inspiration to her friends and fellow gardeners.
