In her honor a celebration of life will be held, Friday, June 14, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00pm in the Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, Texas.
Shirley was a sweet and stylish woman, with a quick wit and a bright attitude that always looked for the funny side of life’s little disasters. (Without doubt, Shirley Anderson could pop off funny quips as well as Erma Bombeck used to do!)
I enjoyed the pleasure of being her next door neighbor for over ten years – during which time we had many little talks about her younger years (she was quite an athlete as a teenager), and about how proud she was about her children’s and grandchildren’s lives and achievements. She was also shameless about bragging about her urban cowboy “Billy” as she called her beloved husband Charlie.
I really missed her when she had to move from her home to receive daily medical care, but she still called me occasionally to visit – still sounding upbeat and chipper.
Shirley, it was a real pleasure to have you share part of your life with me. Rest in peace, my Friend.
