Carol Jean Duffin, of Kemah, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024 in Webster, Texas at the age of 77.

She was born on July 9, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas to Ethel and Herbert Elster.

Carol loved being a church liturgist. She worked at St. Mary of the Expectation Church in the RCIA program and art and environment for many years. She was involved in music ministry something she passed on to her son. She was a church member for over 50 years. She and her husband, Pat, facilitated adult Bible study classes. Carol was very involved with her faith and enjoyed serving on the church building committee during the construction of the new church. She was also a member of the St. Mary’s Belles. Carol worked with the Archdiocese of Galveston/Houston as art and environment chairperson. She was a member of the League City Historical Society and was involved with the restoration of St. Mary Catholic Church. Carol liked arts and crafts, painting and flower arranging. She enjoyed traveling with her sister, daughter and granddaughter. She was an avid shopper. Carol was devoted to her faith and family.

Carol was predated in death by her parents, Ethel and Herbert Elster, her aunt Harriet Austin and uncle Julius Burkhardt.

Carol is survived by her husband of 57 years, Pat Duffin, her children Beth Scranton (Mike) and Paul Duffin (Catherine), her sister Gail Heaslet of San Antonio, her grandchildren Katy, Ryan and Mark Scranton, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Family will receive friends on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 9:00am with a Rosary at 9:30am followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 10am at St. Mary of the Expectation Church, 1612 E. Walker, League City, Texas with Father John Rooney presiding.

Interment will take place at South Park Cemetery, 1310 N. Main St., Pearland, Tx.
