John Daniel Goode Jr.
John Daniel Goode Jr. passed away March 23, 2024. He was born November 17, 1944, the son of John and Fern Goode. After graduating from Jones High School, he proudly served in the US Army. He earned a bachelor degree from St Thomas University and MBA from Rice University. John worked as an IT director until his retirement from Sisters of Charity and Harris Health. He enjoyed fishing, was an accomplished woodworker, and hiked the Grand Canyon numerous times.
John is survived by Pam (Ireland) Goode, his wife of 35 years, his son Daniel and grandson Logan, sister, Beverly (Jim) Hines, the mother of his children Barbara Goode, and his precious little shih tzu, Polly. To his surviving beloved nieces and nephews, he was “Uncle Tink”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Brooke Goode, brother Jim Goode and sister, Donna Koziol.
John’s family would like to thank the staff of DaVita Island Dialysis for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tiki Island Fire Department, 747 Tiki Drive, Tiki Island, Texas 77554.
A service for John will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX.
Great friend and neighbor. He was a very intelligent man.
He will be missed.

John, was a great teacher, co-worker, and my fishing buddy for over 4 decades. Learned so much from this man and greatly miss him. Pam, our prayers to you and Polly.
John in deed was a great mentor, teacher, co-worker to many of us Newbees in the IT Field that as so new back in 1979 when I first got into computers. He hired me as a Mainframe computer operator when I knew nothing about computers. Thank YOU John for ALL YOU Did for US All. Prayer to Your family..

John was a vivid fisherman. Him and Pam cruising that I-45 did a great effort to pick me up towing that big boat so I can go fishing with them. You will be missed dearly. My deepest sympathy and sincere condolences are sent to the family.

Pam you and John were best neighbors Irvine and I ever had
And I know you will truly miss him.
That John and Irvine had enough parts between them to open their own hardware store and could figure out how to fix just about anything.
The reality of losing another friend, causes my mind to flood with memories of working for John at SCH. What begin for me in 1977 and continued until 1988, he and countless others helped shape this once 21-year old man. He led a plethora of young adults, very early in their career, and was instrumental in creating a work environment like no other. Those who knew him, loved him, respected him and revered him. He was unique and will be missed. Prayers to Pam and all of John’s family. May God bless each and every one of you.
