June LeGasse, 77 passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, in La Porte, Texas. She was born on April 14, 1946 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Alvin and Vivian Benoit.

June worked as a Purchasing Agent for Calpine Cogeneration until she retired.  She had a passion for reading mystery books, watching her TV shows, playing her tablet games, and loved to spend time with her family especially with her beloved grandson Eli.

June was preceded in death by many loved ones, most notably her parents Alvin and Vivian Benoit, her sisters Margie Perkins and Sara LeBlanc, her brother Clarence Joseph (Buck) Benoit, and son-in-law Mitchell Childress.

June is survived by her only daughter, Heather LeGasse (Childress);

step-daughter, Stephanie LeGasse,  sister, Ann Melancon; grandchild, Eli Childress; step-grandchildren, Sonya LeGasse and Petra Rios, step-great grandchild, Leon LeGasse, her God children, Debbie Kershaw, Dawn Thompson McMinn, Daylynn Ray, and Lance Duhon and numerous family members and friends.

A visitation will be from 10:00am – 11:00am with the Funeral Service at 11:00am on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Crowder Funeral Home in Webster, Texas with Pastor Gary Morgan-Gohlke officiating.

In lieu of flowers, June would want donations to be given to her grandson’s College Fund. Checks can be made in Eli Childress name to be placed into his college savings account.
