Mason Gregory Gray
Mason Gregory Gray, 18, of Pearland, TX, passed away on February 23, 2024 in Goose Creek, South
Carolina. Mason was born to Nilam Patel and Gregory Gray on September 29, 2005 in Bryan, TX.
His family moved to Pearland in 2007.
In his short life, Mason accomplished many things beyond what one would expect of the typical
eighteen-year-old. He graduated from Dawson High School, in Pearland, TX in 2023 as a three-year
graduate. While still enrolled in high school, Mason made the decision to serve his country, so he
enlisted in the delayed entry program for the United States Navy. He currently held the rank of E-3,
referred to as “Seaman” and was enrolled in A-School for the Navy Nuclear Power Propulsion Program–one of the
most selective and elite programs in the United States Navy–in Goose Creek, SC.
Mason was deeply loved and cared for by his family and friends. He was known for his joie de vivre,
for being a dedicated and loving son and brother, for being a fierce friend, and for excelling in his
role as a sailor. Although Mason will be missed profoundly, those dearest to him take solace in
knowing that he lived life to the fullest, and he will be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge to greet his
beloved senior dog, Dancer, when his time comes to cross the bridge
Mason is preceded in death by his grandparents Dennis Gray and Sharron Gray. He is survived by
his mother Nilam Patel; father Gregory Gray and wife Kristal; grandmother Smita Patel, grandfather
Atul Patel and wife Parvati; sisters Jasmyn Ward and husband Jeff, and Lyla Gray; step sister Jenna
Pearson; great aunt Kailas Patel; great uncle Dilip Patel; great uncle Kinner Patel; second cousins Al
Patel and Tar Patel; and second cousin Reena Boradia and her husband Darshan.
