Mildred “Millie” Dolores Ruiz, 86, resident of Dickinson, Texas for 50 yrs., went to be with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 18, 2024. She was born July 9, 1937 to proud and loving parents, Ervin Terwilliger and Alma McKee Terwilliger in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

She was a loving wife, mother and sister as well as a friend to many. Millie met and married the love of her life, David Ruiz, in 1957 and from that union was blessed with a son and daughter. The family made their home in Dickinson, Texas. She was a member of The First Baptist Church in Dickinson and later First United Methodist Church of Dickinson. Mildred worked as a business representative at General Telephone until her retirement.

Millie enjoyed 30 yrs. in her retirement. She & David enjoyed their RV group for many years and she enjoyed many years of volunteering for organizations like the Dickinson ISD, Dickinson Library, Pioneer Club, Galveston Opera House and the churches she attended. Millie was also active in her weekly exercise group and her Bible study class.

Millie is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Shirleen Booth and her beloved husband, David Ruiz.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, David Neal Ruiz (wife Bonnie Ladd); daughter, Mary Dee Ruiz (wife Lisa Drechsler); brother, Bill Terwilliger; as well as extended family and friends.

In her honor a visitation with family members will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 12:00-2:00pm in the Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, Texas.
