Ignacio Necaso Vasquez
Ignacio Necaso Vasquez (71) of Texas City, Texas died peacefully in his family’s residence in Spring, Texas on December 14, 2023, after battling heart failure.
Ignacio was born March 4, 1952, in Texas City, Texas to father Joe F. Vasquez and mother Alice Necaso Vasquez. He grew up in a large loving family including three brothers and four sisters, with him being the youngest.
After graduating from high school, he began his military career in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam Era in Kaiserslautern, Germany as a heavy equipment mechanic. He retired after 38 years of service from the United States Army, where he served as a Staff Sergeant.
Ignacio dedicated his life to his loving parents and family. He was proud of being a mechanic and helped his family and friends with all their mechanical needs from small engine repairs to large vehicles. He never encountered a stranger and those who had the honor to know him knew he was military to the core of his soul. He will be remembered for his devotion to the military, his jokes, and his willingness to always have a good time.
Ignacio will forever be cherished by those of us he has left behind. We will all miss the laughter, joy, and love that he brought into our lives. We will always remember the fruit baskets he created and brought to each of us personally each Christmas season.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joe F. Vasquez, his mother Alice Necaso Vasquez, brothers Alfred Vasquez and Alfonso Vasquez, and sister Beatrice Vasquez.
He is survived by his sisters Natalie Tingle, Belinda Jobe, and Kay Hightower (Thomas); Brother David Vasquez (Phyllis); Nieces Jolynn Vasquez, Joyce Boggs (Donald), Shellie Tingle-Esquivel (Reymund), Lydia Vasquez, Alexandra Roberts (Christian), Natalie Tingle-Esquivel, Sarah Vasquez, Amber Rose Vasquez, Samantha Vasquez, Evangeline Vasquez-Wallace, Seras Roberts and Iris Vasquez; Nephew Jon Whittaker (Bernita), Sherman Wilson (Patricia), Nick Vasquez (Dana), Jeff Vasquez, Jr. (Rhiannon), Danny Boggs, Zachary Wilson, and Orion Vasquez
Special recognition to his Cousin Elsa Vasquez and his Best Friends, John Rodriguez, John Lane, and Cliff Washington, as well.
Memorial services will be held at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas on Wednesday, December 20th at 10:00 am, under the direction of James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the VFW Dickinson Memorial Post 6378 5204 Texas Highway 3, Dickinson, Texas 77539.
Nacho and were friends for over 40 years. He was really more like a Brother than a friend. We worked together, both as mechanics, then, when I became his supervisor, his boss.
Nacho’s personality was such, that he never met a stranger. When he got to know you, he’d gave you a nick name. Nick names like, Slow Joe, Candy Man, Trouble Shooter, Rabi, Shorty, Bo (short for Bohemian) or Kid were just a few of them.
Nacho took life slow, very seldom getting excited about anything. He took it one day at a time. Always believing that tomorrow would be better.
Nacho loved to talk, especially with a cup of coffee. He dearly loved coffee, and was never without a cup. We drank many a cup together in my office, work bay, or in the motor pool. I’ll miss those times and the conversations.
As Nacho would say, “Mighty fine 18, Motor Pool, Out”.

I have lost a great friend, and a brother soldier, His tour of duty in this life is over and he now resting and relaxing with the lord. He was a great person who care about people, helped everybody he could , made friends with everyone. Sure going to miss that old soldier.
Nacho-man, wish we could have seen you one more time.
Age and health issues catch up to us all.
Your unique personality will forever be a part of our memories. Your generous nature, quirky jokes, humming while eating and mumbling will surely be missed by all who knew you. We love you. May God grant Comfort and Peace.

Ivy you were the nicest uncle. When I was I was younger he helped me fix up my first truck and that’s something I will never forget. He was always outside during gatherings ready to have a conversation or give good advice. RIP Ivy, you are loved by many.
