Linda Foytik Fletcher
Linda Foytik Fletcher, 70, of Pearland, Tx joined the angelic choirs on October 10, 2023 after a brief, but well fought battle with Nonspecific Interstitial Pneumonia complicated by COVID. Her husband, Larry and daughter, Lauren, held her earthly hands until she was safely in the hands of God.
Linda was born on June 20, 1953 in West Columbia, Texas. She attended Columbia High School and after graduation studied Vocal Performance and Music Education at Sam Houston University. She did her student teaching in the Pasadena Independent School District and was hired by PISD for the following year. At the time of her passing, Linda had started her 49th year with the district. During her 30 years in the classroom, Linda served as the choir director at Pasadena High School and Thompson Intermediate Schools and also taught music at Moore, Jensen, Stuchberry & Genoa Elementary schools. For the past 18 years Linda has served as the Director of Fine Arts for the district.
No one fought harder or was a bigger advocate for the Fine Arts programs, the nearly 300 Fine Arts teachers and the students in the district. In 2022, she was named the Texas Outstanding Fine Arts Director. Her presence will be missed in the Fine Arts community across the state. Linda left her hand-print on the hearts of thousands.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry Joseph Fletcher; her daughter, Lauren Fletcher Hughes; son-in-law, Nathan Hughes; grandsons Aiden Hughes & Blake Hughes, all of Pearland. She is also survived by her brothers Kenneth Foytik & wife Lisa, of Katy and Donald Foytik & wife Amanda, of Angleton, along with aunts, uncles and a host of cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy & Ellen Foytik, formerly of Damon, TX.
According to her wishes, Linda will be cremated. A Celebration of Life is being planned with details to be announced later.

I am stunned to learn of Linda’s death. We were classmates at SHSU and I was her Big Sister in our music fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota. Although we lost touch through the years, I would see her occasionally at TMEA. She was always the same——sweet and joyful. Know that you are in my prayers.
