Theresa Ray, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, October 07, 2023 at home after a brief illness surrounded in love by her family at the age of 89.

Theresa was born on November 12, 1933 in German occupied Poland in the town of Machliniec to the late Michael and Maria (Windisch) Menzel. Having grown up in Germany during World War 2, Theresa immigrated to the United States with her mother and brother, Erhard, in 1952 settling in Zilwaukee, Michigan.   

Theresa  married the love of her life, Ronald Raymend Ray  on August 26, 1961 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Zilwaukee. In 1978, the family was transferred to Houston, Texas and settled in Clear Lake, where Theresa continued to raise her children and dedicate her time and devotion to St. Bernadette and St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Churches. She also attended daily mass with her husband. Theresa loved spending time with family and friends, traveling especially to Germany, socializing and playing bridge with her friends. 

Theresa is survived by her son, Richard, daughter, Julie, granddaughter, Amber, her brother and sister in-law Erhard and Pat Menzel along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, her daughter, Ann Marie, and son, David Michael. 

Visiting will be at Crowder Funeral Home Clear Lake on Thursday evening at 6:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare of Assisi on Friday at 10:00am. A reception will be held in the Parish Hall immediately after Mass. Interment will be at 2:00pm at Houston National Cemetery. Theresa will be laid to rest beside her husband.
