Desiderio L. Aguilera, Sr.

Desiderio L. Aguilera, Sr., 89, falleció el 7 de agosto de 2023. Nació el 18 de enero de 1934 en México de padres, Julián Aguilera y Blasa Lozano.

En sus primeros años de vida, Desiderio era un agricultor migrante que viajaba por los Estados Unidos cosechando cultivos junto con su familia. Trabajó varias décadas como jardinero y finalmente se retiró a la edad de 89 años del South Shore Harbor Country Club. Le apasionaba cantar en las celebraciones y amaba la música de mariachi.

A Desiderio le precedieron en la muerte sus padres y su hijo, Desiderio Aguilera, Jr. su esposa Guadalupe Aguilera. En su honor habrá un velorio el miércoles 9 de agosto de 2023 de 5:00 p. m. a 7:00 p. m. en Crowder Funeral Home en Dickinson, Texas, seguido de un rosario. El funeral está programado para el jueves 10 de agosto de 2023 a las 10:30 am en la Iglesia Shrine of the True Cross en Dickinson, Texas, seguido de un entierro en el cementerio católico Mt. Olivet.

Es un honor servir como portadores del féretro Danny Aguilera, Joe D. Ruiz, Javier Delgado, Isaiah Aguilera, Hector Cruz, Jr. y Rudy Rivera. Como portadores honorarios del féretro están Johnny Aguilera y Jonathan Rodríguez.

Desiderio L. Aguilera, Sr., 89, passed from this life on August 7, 2023. He was born on January 18, 1934 in Mexico to parents, Julian Aguilera and Blasa Lozano.

In his early life, Desiderio was a migrant farmer, traveling through the United States harvesting crops along side his family.  He worked several decades as a groundskeeper, finally retiring at the age of 89 from the South Shore Harbor Country Club. He had a passion for singing at celebrations and loved mariachi music.

Desiderio is preceded in death by his parents and son, Desiderio Aguilera, Jr. his wife Guadalupe Aguilera. Grandchildren Johnny Aguilera & Rigoberto Aguilera Jr. and Eddie Aguilera;  Sisters: Oralia Zavala, Blasa Rosas, Angela Vargas and Husband Carlos, Serafina Delgado and husband Juan, Aurora Jaramillo, Criselda Reyna, Brothers: Julian Aguilera and wife Columba, Victor Aguilera, and brothers in laws Raul Arrazola and Roberto Mejia

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, loving wife, Amelia Camacho; daughters, Alicia Cruz and husband, Hector, Sylvia Ruiz and husband, Joe, Oralia Sanchez and husband, Gilberto; sons, Juan Aguilera and wife, Altagracia, Matilde Aguilera and wife Merida, Victor Aguilera, Rigoberto Aguilera and wife, Maria, Herman Aguilera and wife, Olga and Roland Aguilera and wife, Ivette; Maria Rodriguez, Amelia Calderon and husband, Javier, Ana Rivera and Anna Salinas, 38 Grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 23 great great-grandchildren.

In his honor there will be a visitation on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas followed by a Rosary. A funeral service is scheduled on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 10:30am at Shrine of the True Cross Church in Dickinson, Texas followed by interment at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.

Honored to service as pallbearers are Danny Aguilera, Joe D. Ruiz, Javier Delgado, Isaiah Aguilera, Hector Cruz, Jr. and Rudy Rivera. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Johnny Aguilera and Jonathan Rodriguez.
