Billy Franklin Reeves
Billy Franklin Reeves (75) passed away on December 24th, 2014 at he and his wife’s home in League City, TX. He was husband to Sissy Reeves. They shared 20 happy years of marriage. Born in Heidenheimer, TX, Billy was the son of Ivy Bell Smith and Lloyd Franklin Reeves. He graduated from Texas City High School, spent 4 years in the US Navy from 1958 to 1962 and worked many years as a financial services manager before retiring at age 62. During that time he was also owner operator of the Reeves Bait Bucket under the FM 146 Dickinson Bayou bridge. With his own two hands and a ton of sweat, Billy built the shrimp boat he used to supply the bait camp with live and dead bait. After selling the bait camp and retiring, he worked a short time with his brother Richard Reeves on Richard’s shrimp boat, the Helen M. He was also a member of the Clear Lake/Kemah Elks Lodge #2322 for 11 years. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was also one of the most positive individuals anyone could ever meet; never having a harsh word to say about anyone. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and poker player. He leaves behind his wife Sissy Reeves, son Christopher Reeves, daughter Rachelle Reeves, granddaughters Reagan Ivy Reeves, Carolyn Avery Reeves and Lauren Auker, his great grandson Brayden James Rodriguez and his two sisters, Linda McCauley and Lloydell Ladd. A short memorial service will be held 5 PM Tuesday, December 30th at Crowder Funeral Home on Main street in League City, TX. In lieu of flowers please donate to finding a cure for cancer.
