Charles Lex Christy, Jr.
Charles Lex Christy Jr., 87, of League City, Texas.
Charlie passed away in his home on July 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
He met this challenge just as he dealt with all life experiences, with strength, grace, and pride, as he wanted to spend as much time as possible with his wife, close family, and loved ones.
He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to Charles Sr. and Dathel Christy in March of 1936, the eldest of 6 children. He shall be greeted by his parents and siblings; Claudette Barclay, Sue Harris-Morgan, Ronald Christy, and Hiram Christy.
Charlie leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Beverly, and three children; Randell (Sandy), Calvin (Donna), and Debra (Kevin) Lenamond, sibling; Dona Jean (Robert) Ransom, seven grandchildren; Ryan and Nicole Christy, Casey and Cory Lowe, Keifer, Connor, and Clayton Lenamond, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Charlie answered his nations call and joined the Navy in 1953 and served on a Destroyer in the Pacific until his discharge in 1961.
Charlie worked for over 30 years with S&B in the engineering and construction industry, where he worked as an Executive Manager and later mentoring the next generation of managers.
Charlie’s most peaceful times were on the water while fishing with his wife, family, and friends.
As per his wishes, there will be no memorial service at this time. A service will be held at the Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
My deepest condolences to Bev and the family. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.
Charlie was a wonderful mentor at S&B to work for on many EPC projects. He demanded the best of all his estimate and design crews on hard money projects
My sincere condolences to all of his family
Jim Williams. Wed.
deepest condolences to the family. Lots of memories if I can help in anything let me know.
To my mentor, fishing buddy and friend, you certainly gave me and S&B your all. Rest in peace Charley, and condolences to Beverly and rest of your family. We should have changed the name of S&B to SCB long ago, to acknowledge your, Ron’s and other Christy family contributions.
With deepest sorrow and sadness to see you go, but happy as hell I knew you. A true S&B icon. One of the greatest names to go down in S&B history.
Beverly, thanks for letting Charley go fishing with me, and sorry about the time Dr. B took out his knife and scratched your and Charley’s brand new Falcon Tiger bass boat.
Sending all of God’s blessings to the family during this very difficult time. May he rest in peace.

Charlie was truly one of a kind. He got the most out of you but he always made it fun. You couldn’t help but like him and his style. Prayers to to the family.
My most sincere condolences and prayers to the family during this most difficult of times.
Charley was one of a kind and was always encouraging to me.
I will never forget him and was blessed to have known him.
Truly one of the greatest friends, boss, mentor and person anyone could ever ask for. Charlie took me into the estimating/construction department when I was just a pup. The jobs were tough but Charlie keep it fun and everything was a learning experience. I appreciated his commitment to his job and his people. I still to this day
can hear him passing out some of his sayings “don’t worry about the horse just load the wagon”. They all had a special meanings to Charlie and to the rest of us that thought more of Charlie than just being a boss. I can never express how much you ment to us. Charlie possessed so many fine qualities but I believe his greatest was just good old common sense. Rest in peace old friend you will be greatly missed. To the Christy family my thoughts and prayer are going out to you, stay strong.
