Richard and I shared co pilot duties for many years together and we made each other better every time we flew. He is a good friend whom I will miss a great deal and I will remember him every time I fly, without fail. I have great respect for Richard’s mechanical apptitude and attention to details and learned a great deal from him.
I will be out of town and miss his services this weekend and rest assured I will be with you guys in conscious spirt. God Bless you both and Richard in Heaven.

Patrick and I are so saddened at the loss of Richard. He always called and our girls delighted that he flew over to Beaumont to visit us. May our loving Lord Jesus send his angels to surround all of your family with their wings and grant you peace and understanding. I know that your faith will sustain all of you with the knowledge that we SHALL see Richard in our Lord’s kingdom. Our prayers are with each of you.

Although we didn’t know him really well we always enjoyed visiting with him when we were in town. We know he was a good man well liked and respected by all who knew him. We will keep your family in our prayers. May Gods grace comfort you during this time of sorrow and grief.
Richard WILL ALWAYS be a TERRIFIC FRIEND!! Years after completion of 8th grade at St. Christopher’s, he caught up with me and our friendship was the best!! I know family was so very important to Richard!! Having a friendship with Richard is one of the highlights of my life!! I know if I was stranded on a freeway at 2:00 a.m. in the morning, I could call Richard and he’d be on his way to help!! Richard will always be what a true friend is all about!! I know he’s in heaven. He’ll be tremendously missed on earth!! I’m extremely thankful to have the friendship I have with Richard!! Memories live forever!!
Dear Sherry and John,
Richard was a celebrity on Spinnaker Dr. He worked outside frequently in the garage and driveway and spoke to the neighbors as they passed by. We all knew he was ready and willing to help anyone, including loaning tools, which I hear is the ultimate for a man.
He was a first responder for our neighborhood and he helped many people, including me, during the hurricane, including cutting and removing large the trees limbs. He mowed the front lawns of vacant houses just to keep the appearance up. I am proud to see the fence he built with his exceptional work ethic.
He loved his hobbies and had a sense of adventure. Your family had fun in the front yard on July 4th and New Year’s Eve, and he will be missed.
Sherry and John, May God give you peace and understanding at this time. At our family reunions I can remember Richard as being the one to get things going among the family. Even though we didn’t see him much, I know he will be missed by all those that ever knew him.
Dear Sharon and John,
Richard is one of the true “good guys.” Although I only met him just under two years ago, when I moved into the neighborhood, I quickly learned that he is the prefect neighbor. He has always been considerate, concerned, compassionate and connected to his neighbors, which always made me feel as though I was part of a special little community. He has always been the first to offer help and advice, and he’s presence will certainly be missed. I always liked the good guys, because they make great friends. Richard has been, and will always be a great friend to me.
I was saddened to hear of Richard’s untimely passing, when Sherry called me on Christmas day. I knew Richard for over 22 years, through our car club, Oldsmobile Club of America. The only contact I had with Richard was via phone calls, letters and emails. He was always helpful with advice and he was very down to earth. The biggest impression Richard made on me was, not to take things in life at face value. I will always be greatful for the friendship.
Richard and I were in the gas marketing business together years ago. We clicked and were good friends in the business. I’ve looked for him on social media many times over the years. I just finished writing a note to him on Linkedin and before I sent it I made one more attempt to find him. I am saddened to have found him here. My note read: “Long time since we connected! I’d love to catch up. Can I give you a call? I doubt your phone number is still 713-853-7339. I have a note that reads: “Richard & I go way back in the gas marketing biz. He is recently a new dad.” When was that note? I’ve looked for you many times on social media to no avail.”
My condolences to the wife and that ‘new’ son who much have been in his twenties when Richard left. I am truly sorry to have found this sad news.
