Brenda Marie Andrus Montgomery
Brenda Marie Andrus Montgomery, 76, of Dickinson, passed away in her home surrounded by her loved ones at 11:30 AM on May 10th, 2023. Brenda was born on November 18th, 1946 in Amite, Louisiana, to Helen Marie and Byron Merton Andrus. She succumbed to a 3 year battle against pancreatic and liver cancer. Just before she passed, she declared that she was going to finish the race and then shout for joy. She was a retired Juvenile Probation Officer and a loyal member of the Bacliff Church of Christ. Quilting was a great passion of hers and she lovingly made numerous quilts and taught the art of quilting to those that were part of her life. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Sheryl Carnegie.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 57 years, William “Bill” Montgomery; son David Andrus Montgomery and wife Valarie; daughter Nikki Wilburn and husband Daniel; sisters Wanda Henderson and husband Harold, and Joy Lynn Decuir and husband Terry; brother-in-law Roy Carnegie; grandchildren Kaitlyn Montgomery, Mike Shafter and wife Stacey, Daniel Shafter, and Rebecca Shafter; great-grandchildren Ethan Shafter, Sebastian Laws, and Maddy Shafter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will be receiving friends 1:30 – 2:00 pm, with a memorial service at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Crowder Funeral Home Dickinson.

Brenda was such a wonderful example of Christian love for all of us. She will be greatly
missed. Praying for peace for the Montgomery family knowing that she is in the protective wings of the angels.
Brenda will be truly missed, she was always there for me and gave encouragement when I was down. My love for her and her family will always be there. Brenda was the sister I never had. Her humor, laughter, faith was and wisdom was a blessing to all.
