Kevin Keith Tipton
Kevin Keith Tipton of Pearland, TX passed away February 15, 2023 at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, in Houston, TX at the age of 61. He was a native of Oklahoma born in Oklahoma City, the second son of James and Marilyn Tipton. He spent his early years in Oklahoma City and later moved to Texas with his parents where he graduated from Conroe High School in 1980. He was an avid student of contemporary music and of the entertainment industry. He was his own person, an individual who was never swayed by his peers. He was measured by his compassion for the unfortunate ones always ready and willing to consider them a friend, lend a helping hand, even though sometimes all he could offer was a kind word of encouragement and a smile that resonated from his religious belief and unwavering faith in Christianity.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Tipton and brother Steven Scott Tipton.
Kevin is survived by his father, James Tipton; daughters; Skye Renee’ Pittman, Kayla Alexandria Tipton; granddaughter, Stormy Pittman.
A memorial service is planned for at a later date. Remembrances may be posted at Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland, TX.
Kevin will be missed greatly. He was such a hoot. His karaoke skills and costume changes will never be forgotten. He was a great friend to my mom and to anyone else who needed a friend. Kevin marched to the beat of his own drum, and he didn’t care what anyone thought. Kevin always had a kind word to say about everyone.
His huge heart will be missed.
Kevin was a good person and my best friend. I will miss him so much.
I’m going to miss my uncle Kevin. Kevin was quite an interesting guy. The thing about Kevin is he was a free spirit, he lived on his own terms. I don’t think he wasted any of his time doing things that didn’t interest him. I admire that. He had a vast wealth of knowledge on music and film. Sometimes he would educate me for hours on statistics of box office revenues and academy award predictions. He would know who the composer of a film soundtrack was and could recognize their styles. I’ll miss those talks. It was impressive how much he would know on the subject.He was also a performer who would sing and dance. He would put on quite a show and invite everyone to come watch which I’m sure most of us got the pleasure to do. It was surprising how good he was. You could tell he really put the time and work into being great. He will be remembered as quirky, kind, loving, unique and a true follower of God. Rest in Peace Uncle Kevin, I love you.
