Cynthia “Cindy” Ann (Priess) Knapp
Cynthia “Cindy” Ann (Priess) Knapp, of Houston, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 in Houston, Texas. She was born on October 7, 1965 in Youngstown, Ohio to Jarrell and Janet Priess. She moved to Wichita, Kansas as a toddler, then the family relocated to Clear Lake in 1969 to join the growing space industry. Cindy graduated from Clear Lake High School, just like her two daughters, and went on to attend Sam Houston State University.
Cindy was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. Her favorite activity was spoiling her daughters, new grandson, and three granddogs, Jewel, Scarlett, and Allie. Cindy enjoyed volunteering with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for many years, live country music, classic 80’s rock and roll, playing cards, watching Friends, and attending musicals. Friends and family remember Cindy for her kindness, witty sense of humor, and loving, generous nature. She was devoted to her job as a Senior Analyst, Commercial Contracts at Enbridge Inc., and spoke fondly of the many colleagues and friends made during her lengthy career in the oil and gas industry.
Cindy is survived by her daughters, Amanda Knapp, and Jessica Knapp Little and husband Cody; grandson, Jack Little; mother, Janet Marshall and husband George; father, Jarrell Priess and wife Vicki; sister, Cathy Gaines and husband David; nephew, Austin Gaines; and niece, Chelsea Gaines Vuncannon and husband Nick. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 25 at Clear Lake United Methodist Church, 16335 El Camino Real, Houston, Texas, 77062, where she was a life-long member. Burial will take place in St. John, Kansas, surrounded by loving family members. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cindy’s memory can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.

I am so sad to hear of this news. Cindy was a wonderful person. So glad we reconnected recently. I remember having sleep overs and eating Bluebell milk chocolate ice cream for breakfast and hanging out at your backyard pool. We loved going to Astroworld and I remember her becoming a Mommy and being in my wedding. Thinking of our fun times will always bring a smile to my face – she was a blessing of a friend!
So many happy memories from the years we worked together! May God bless you and keep you, dear Cindy. Prayers for the family. May you find strength in the knowledge that she now rests in the good Lord’s loving arms!
