Patricia McKay Lawson, 70, a resident of League City, TX passed away on June 5, 2022 in Webster, TX. Patricia was born in Granite City, Illinois on March 17, 1952 and was of the Christian faith. She recently moved to League City, TX 6 months ago from Springfield, MO. She was in the mortgage and banking industry, and also worked as a legal secretary. Patricia was a passionate Civil War enthusiast and has 100’s of books in her library of history, philosophy, and literature. She also did charitable work in Rockford, Illinois where she spent much of her life. She married her current husband Jeffrey Lawson in Galveston, TX on November 11, 2021.
Patricia was an amazing woman. She spent her life only thinking of others. She worked very hard all of her life for her family and for the charitable causes she cared about, which was the protection of animals and various environmental causes. She also was highly talented in cross-stitch art which filled her home with amazing beauty. She will forever be missed and loved by her many family and friends. But she is now in the arms of our Father in Heaven. She will not hurt anymore, or suffer anymore, and we will see her again.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernice Bush and Wilburn McKay; sisters: Iris and Mary McKay.
She leaves behind her husband, Jeffrey Lawson; sons: Richard Laurenberg, wife, Sijin Xian and Christian Laurenberg; step-daughter, Brittney; step-son, Blake; step-grandchild, Benassi; brother, John McKay.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the ASPCA.
Betty and I extend our deepest condolences to Jeff and the family.
We are so sorry for your loss, but we can all rejoice she is in heaven with our Lord and Savior and in a much better place than this troubled world we live in.
