Dolores Szymanski was a loving and treasured soul. She left her special magic on the many people she touched during her incredible life. As her younger cousin, I felt her kindness, creativity, and compassion. We also shared a wonderful grandmother. Spending time with them both as a youngster added to my character and self esteem. If we weren’t shopping, cooking, baking and going to the movies, we were sharing stories on Grandma’s back porch. My summer visits to spend time with them was very important and life changing.
Those of us that were lucky to have had such strong women in our lives are forever grateful.
Dolores was a a light and gift to us and may we always remember her gentle and sweet nature.
Love you Dolores,
Barbara Ann, Jim and Matthew Demgen

Dolores was always fun and pleasant to talk with, plus she made the best lemon fruit cake! I enjoyed the times I spend with her.

My dear cousins,
Your mom (and dad) were so generous with their love and support during my time in Houston. Encouragement and an occasional home cooked meal were important things to a newly minted graduate. It’s the end of an era but we will cherish the memories forever. Love to you all.
