Jesse Darryl Banta
Jesse Darryl Banta was born May 2nd, 1960 to John Frank Banta and Evelyn Masingill Banta.
Jesse is preceded in death by parents John and Evelyn Banta and brothers John Frank Banta and Jeffery Blain Banta.
Jesse is survived by his wife Rebecca Tucker Banta and children; Misty Lynn Perkins, and her husband Matt; Christy Michelle Slay, and her husband David; Shana Waltrip, and her husband Jason, and Michael Joe Sutton. Jesse is also survived by his brother James (Jim Mitchell Banta and his wife Johnnie, and his sister Jaenae Willoria Banta-Copple and husband David. Jesse is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, a multitude of nieces and nephews, as well as many other family members and friends.
Known as Camel to his friends and family, and as Papa to his grandchildren, Jesse always had an intellectual curiosity for all sorts of facts, especially concerning history, which he enjoyed sharing with those around him. His love of history included a deep appreciation and respect for the military, and he always loved hearing stories of military service, especially those of his good friend and personal hero, Cliff Burks, a WWII veteran. Jesse’s work ethic led him to excel as a dedicated employee of Mainland Concrete for over 25 years. Jesse was a man of faith and will always be very much loved by those who knew him.
There will be a visitation at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson on Sunday, March 20, 2022, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. There will be a graveside service Monday, March 21, 2022, at 3:30pm at Forest Park East cemetery in League City, Texas.
