  1. Seeing David’s name brings back a lot of childhood memories. His brother Dennis and I were in the same class and David would furnish horses for a group of us kids to ride on weekends. I remember David letting me ride a horse named “Sweetheart”. We all rode all over the countryside. So sorry to hear David and Dennis have both passed away. Seems as if every week we lose another childhood friend. It was great to see he had a fantastic family to love and spend time with. God Bless You All!

  2. David was a hard-working honest man. I worked with him in the early 70’s at #2 Gas and always enjoyed his company. He loved to talk about “America’s Team”, the Dallas Cowboys, and Tuesday mornings were filled with comments related during Monday Night Football (mostly from Don Meredith). Dave loved the Cowboys. He and several of his workmates at #2 Gas fabricated highly polished stainless steel “Cowboy Hard Hats” and wore them to Dallas Cowboy games. I can still see them glistening in the sun.
I liked to work with David and didn’t realize until years later that he was married to my friend Norman Tucker’s sister Ruby. When I was on days, I remember helping David change starting air valves and doing general maintenance to the reciprocating compressors in the Compressor Building. David took pride in his job and worked hard to keep everything maintained. If I was working in the control room, he always came by to visit.
I remember one weekend I got a phone call from the #2 Gas supervisor requesting me to come out as David had solicited me to start #7 Ethylene Compressor. David and crew had worked on the machine. It was very pernickety and hard to start and the shift on days couldn’t seem to start it. According to the supervisor….David said I was the only one that could start the machine. I came out and saw David’s wide grin and knew I would start the machine for him. Sure enough, it started and we were able to go home and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
    Rest in Peace David.
