Leona Faye Gatlin
Leona Faye Gatlin, of Kemah, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at her home in Kemah, Texas at the age of 80. She was born on March 16, 1941 in Birmingham, Alabama to George and Edna Simmons.
She enjoyed crafts, embroidery and loved her grandchildren. Leona also had a successful career with the Post Office and retired in 2003.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert and daughter Angela McKenna.
Leona is survived by her daughter Debra Surman and husband Robert, sons Ronald Dennison and wife Maricar, Gordon Gatlin and wife Dawn, grandchildren Kara Sauser, Jennifer Crum, Gabriella Surman, Rebecca Ferrell, Rachel Dupre, Katie Warzon, Jessica Farve, Hardy Gatlin, Alec Gatlin, Samantha Gatlin, Courtney Belyeu, Joel Dempsey, Ronald Dennison, Jr., eleven great-grandchildren and many other loving family and friends.
The Family will receive friends on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 6-8:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main, League City, Texas 77573. A Ceremony will follow on Tuesday at 10:00am at Crowder Funeral Home with Pastor Clyde Mahan presiding.
Interment will take place at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
From the moment we met Leona, we loved her. She had a heart of gold and spoke her mind. Loved that about her! She was quick and witty and had a great laugh. She would share stories of her husband and days of her working, always walking away with a good life lesson she would teach me. She’ll be missed dearly and will forever be in our fond memories. Rest In Peace.

Loved our sweet Aunt Leona. She was a woman that had a heart of gold. And always spoke what she thought. She loved her family with her whole heart and always made sure they knew that they were.
