Benedict Gerald (Jerry) Propri, Sr.
Benedict Gerald (Jerry) Propri, Sr. passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2021 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Jerry was born October 9, 1939 in Youngstown, OH to the late Jesse and Florence Propri. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna Marie Propri, and a grandson, Kenneth Ray Batten, Jr., as well as a brother, Jesse Propri, and sister, Rita Mineo.
He is survived by one sister, Judy Propri of California. 4 children: Benedict (Ben) Gerald Propri, Jr. and wife Beth Ball of Haw River, NC; Donna Jean Propri of Rosharon, TX; Frank Joseph Propri and wife Lisa Ann of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Barbra Batten of Rosharon, TX. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was a proud 2nd generation Italian American. He loved cooking authentic Italian food from recipes handed down through the generations. He loved THE Ohio State Buckeyes and the “Golden Domers” of Notre Dame. Any dog or cat that came his way received lots of loving salutations and rubs, especially his favorite cat, Galileo. He loved to sing, and at any time, would break out into song. Some of his favorites being: the hymn “I’ll Fly Away”, Golden Slumbers by the Beatles, and a variety of songs by Karen Carpenter.
Jerry’s greatest joy came from his family. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren above all else. He would stop at nothing to make sure they were safe and happy. He would light up a room with his smile when any of them entered.
His love was bigger than life. He will be greatly missed.
His memorial service will be Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 3:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland TX.

Jerry was my cousin. When I and my brothers formed a band, we included a few of Jerry’s songs under his ‘stage name – Tony Capri). Later we sang them together when he visited us in Ohio during his class reunions.
Jerry was fun. Talented. And a joy to be around.
We are sad at his passing, but excited that we will see him again in heaven!
Debbie and I will pray for those he left behind that God will comfort them in their grief.

My deepest condolences. Jerry was one of my best friends. He was so happy all the time. He always made the best of a bad situation. I loved him like my own brother. It was such a great honor to know him and be a close friend for the time was I able to share part of my life with him. He will be missed deeply. I know God has a special place for him. Rest In Peace.

Uncle Jerry was one of my favorites. Always had a gag or a line to make us laugh. He took me to my first concert, Dave Clark Five and taught me how to drive when I got my permit. He was one of Mitch’s favorite pen pals. He was good to all of us.
We loved him so – he will be missed. My deepest sympathies to his children, grandchildren ansd all who loved him.
Jerry made a good impression on me when I was just a kid. He embodied what it is to be a family man and lived a full life. I loved him like family and always will. My heart goes out to all of his wonderful family.
I am so sorry to have waited so long to say anything. He was my uncle who I loved with all my heart.Growing up, I remember all the crazy things he would say and do. He 2 sons where like brothers to me and the 2 daughters are like sisters. Growing up, the family was very close. I miss the times at christmas over my Grandpa and grandmas house. It was a huge event. With us all together, there was 13 grandchildren. It was the most amazing thing ever.Now that I am 62 , looking back on these very important times, are sadly missed. Everyone grew up and went separate ways. I would give anything to see all of them one last time. He was my fathers brother So many awesome memories I wonder how we are all doing .
