Hope Atteberry
Our beloved, beautiful Hope Atteberry, age 65, passed away on September 24, 2021 in Friendswood, Texas. She was a beautiful, strong, God-loving woman who fought her cancer battle with grace and dignity for over 3 years. She always kept a positive attitude as her smile and beauty shined through. She has left the most beautiful footprint on our hearts and will forever be remembered for her love.
Hope was born in Moses Lake, Washington and moved to Baytown-Houston, Texas shortly after. She met her husband, Greg in 1975 on a Brown & Root project in Channelview, and they got married on September 9, 1977. They raised Jon, Jessica and Jared in Friendswood, Texas, and in 1997 moved to San Antonio, Texas for 13 years. Hope and Greg moved back to Friendswood, for good, in late 2018.
Hope was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, MiMi, and aunt who had a heart of gold, a smile that lit up a room, and the most generous soul who always thought of others. Her heart was full of love for her family and friends, and she made a point to make sure they were happy and loved. She enjoyed giving and helping others as much as she enjoyed anything.
Hope’s pride and joy were her family, and she loved them with her heart and soul. If you ever walked through her house, you saw pictures of happy family gatherings, places they visited, and many memories made through the years. Some of her most cherished times were time spent at Rosemary Beach and Lake LBJ with her family, trips to New York City with her mother, Jessica, and other family members. Hope also loved to go to Las Vegas with Greg and enjoyed the shows, lights, shopping and especially going to Cher concerts. Hope’s favorite Holiday was Christmas with family and friends, she loved giving to all.
Hope had an incredible love for God. Her love and faith in God inspired all that knew her. She raised her family to know God, walk alongside of him, and continuously reminded them, through good times and bad, to never give up on Him.
Hope’s talents spilled over in so many areas. She was an amazing home decorator, makeup artist, fashion stylist, and event planner. She enjoyed making jewelry for family and friends. Her jewelry talents were even featured on Good Morning San Antonio.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Greg; children: Jon Atteberry and Wife Crystal of Boerne, Tx, Jessica Baker and husband Clint of Friendswood, Tx; sister, Janan Cowles; sister-in-law, Sandra Hall & husband Dean: grandchildren: Cody and Camdyn Atteberry, Dyllan, Hudson, and Jordyn Baker; numerous nephews & nieces, and a host of friends.
Hope is preceded in death by her son Jared Atteberry, granddaughter Addison Hope Baker, mother Marcelle Lippman and Grandmother Beatrice Jones.
A memorial service will be held at Friendswood Friends Church, 502 South Friendswood, Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 on Friday, October 01, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
A private family graveside service will be held at Mission Burial Park North Dominion, 20900 IH 10 West in San Antonio, Texas 78257.
