Mother Finda Lendor
Mother Finda Lendor was born on April 24, 1944 in Tuladu Waum, Foya Statutory District, Lofa County. Her parents were Tamba Lendor and Kumba Lendor. Both of her parents were farmers and are deceased. Mother Lendor was traditionally married to Mr. Fayiah Kolobbah Sormah. Both partners grew up together and got married in the same town. Both couples were farmers.
She was a mother of seven (7) children; three boys and four girls. They are: Hawa Saah Ndupela Sormah, Harris Tamba Sormah, Abraham Fayiah Sormah, Hawa Sia Kendor kudak, Nesse Kumba Jimmy, Finda Satta Saytue and Yewa Boindogbo Nyumah. She is also survived by twenty-four (24) Grandchildren and twenty-six (26) great grandchildren.
Mother Lendor was a Christian. She baptized and declared her membership with Christ Ambassador Ministry. She was one of the prayer warriors or serving on the prayer bench.
Mother Lendor was not an educated person but took education very seriously. She worked so hard to educate her to achieve brighter future. She helped educate her children by farming.
During the Liberian Civil War, she fled to the Republic of Guinea with her children and family members. In 2002, Mother Lendor returned to her naïve land – Liberia. While residing in Liberia, God opened an avenue to reunite with her son Harris Tamba Sormah into the United States of America. Upon reunification with her son in America, life was enjoyable. She was happy, playful, and funny. She played, cared, and loved her grandchildren until God called her home. Mother Finda Lendor was a caring and loving Mother and Grandmother. May the soul of Mother Finda.
A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021. Funeral service will be Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 12 p.m. in the chapel of Crowder Funeral Home. Burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.
