Thomas “Tom” Michael Crosby, 59, passed away at his home in Pearland, Texas on August 12, 2021.  Tom was born Thomas Bernard Shirley II in Lincoln, Kansas to Rita Mae Boudreaux Shirley and Charles Leo Shirley on June 22, 1962.  His mother, Rita, married Robert John Crosby on July 2, 1969 and they adopted Tom and Teresa in September 1976.

Tom graduated from Willis High School in May 1980 and shortly after graduation, he joined the US Marines.  After serving his country for 4 years, in 1985, Tom started his law enforcement career with the Harris County Sheriff’s Department. He went on to work for the following agencies:  Harris County Constable Pct 3; Bayou Vista Police Department; Stagecoach Police Department; Patton Village Police Department; and lastly as Deputy Constable at Harris County Constable Pct 7 from February 2016 to present.

Tom was proceeded in death by his biological grandparents:  LN Boudreaux, Sr and wife, Alice Mae Rita Lartigue Boudreaux; Thomas Bernard Shirley and wife, Alice Mae O’Neal Shirley; and his adopted grandparents: M David Millar and wife, Margaret Smith Millar. His biological father, Charles Leo Shirley; his dad, Robert John Crosby. His brother-in-law, Kirk Wells. And his nephew, CPL Brandon William Smitherman.

He leaves behind his wife, Tashae Vanhowten-Crosby, of Alvin, TX; mother: Rita Crosby, of Conroe, TX.  Sisters:  Renee Wells of Houston, TX; Cathy Klaassen and husband, Joe of Kingman, AZ; and Teresa Jarvis and husband, Greg of Conroe, TX.  Nieces: Susan Ward and husband, Brian of Houston, TX; Dayna Bosley and husband, Brian of Seattle, WA; and Adrien Smitherman-Alsalmani and husband, Ali of Katy, TX.  Uncles:  LN Boudreaux, Jr and wife, Jean of Montgomery, TX; Frank Boudreaux and wife, Shirley of Houston, TX; and Larry Kopecky and wife, Luanne Boudreaux Kopecky of Cypress, TX.  Cousins:  Michelle Boudreaux of Cypress, TX; Michael Boudreaux and wife, Tammy of Cypress, TX; Denise Boudreaux Nippert; Corey Boudreaux and wife, Misti. He also leaves behind numerous friends, co-workers, brothers in arms, and great nieces and nephews as well.

A graveside service will be held for Tom on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 10:30am at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX, 77038.
