Alec Edward Wirt, 29, went to be with Jesus and His angels on Saturday, June 19, 2021, in Houston, Texas. He is celebrating with his grandparents who had gone on before and have been waiting for him in heaven. A life cut short is now at peace.

Alec is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles “Chuck” Quesenberry and Bob and Alice Wirt.

Alec is survived by his parents, Karla Quesenberry and Gary Wirt. His Memaw, Linda Quesenberry, and his siblings, Cole, Aaron, and Meghan, as well as his uncles, Kevin, Scott, and Jason and cousins Makayla, Jaidyn, and Trinity.

Alec was born in Webster, Texas on October 30, 1991. He was a big boy at 10.4 lbs., which was a fitting beginning to what he would become – a mountain of a man! Larger than life! A force of nature! He was 10’ tall in a 6’ world!

Alec lived and went to school in Friendswood, Texas and attended Friendswood High School, where he was, among other things, a captain on the wrestling team. Alec dominated in his wrestling matches and really knew how to work the crowd and make it so much fun. He had an amazing million watt smile that we can still see beaming up at us in the bleachers cheering him on.

After high school, Alec attended UTSA (University of Texas San Antonio), where he graduated with a Bachelor in Science degree in Criminal Justice with the intention of having a career in law enforcement. He always admired his dad being an officer and wanted to follow in those footsteps. Throughout those high school and college years, Alec formed many deep, personal friendships with so many people. No doubt many of them are here today to remember and celebrate his life.

In October of 2019, Alec started experiencing some symptoms that indicated there was a medical problem. In late November of that same year, Alec suffered a major seizure and ended up in ICU for several days. It was during that time that his first surgery was done and on December 31 we were all told of his diagnosis – cancer – one of the most feared words in the English language. From the very beginning, Alec showed an inner strength of character and strong will to live that cannot be explained. He met this aggressive adversary head on and never once backed down. He told his doctors to “Give me All You Got!” His will to fight was infectious, like his smile, and we all found strength in his strength and God. Throughout these many months of treatment and surgeries and chemotherapies, he showed true grit. He faced these daily challenges with humor and kept us all laughing with his quick comebacks, his jokes, his MEMES! Alec forged new friendships with everyone he met along his journey. Existing friendships become deeper and more meaningful. He loved his family and friends fiercely and “I love you” was the ending of every conversation.

Alec lived life to the fullest until he just couldn’t anymore. Even after the illness confined him to his bed, he never lost his sense of humor and has us all laughing until it hurt. Alec was a warrior and a hero to his friends and family. He somehow found strength to lend to us all, even as his own body was failing him. Alec’s fight is now over and he is in heaven with the Lord. He celebrated life every day. In this, he is also our teacher.

A public viewing will be held at Crowder Funeral Home-Clear Lake on Tuesday, June 29, 2020 from 6pm-8pm. Services will be held at Crowder Funeral Home-Clear Lake on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11:00 A.M.
