Barbara Lee Hughes
Barbara Lee Hughes, 78, a resident of Pearland, TX passed away May 12, 2021 in Pearland. She was born July 12, 1942 in Fort Smith, Arkansas and was raised in Gulfport, Mississippi. Barbara attended Southeast Church of Christ Friendswood, TX. She was a member of Kappa Delta at the University Southern Mississippi, a retired elite gymnastics judge, and coach, as well as a beloved wife of almost sixty years, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sister, and aunt.
She is preceded in death by her son, Stephen Bradley Hughes and parents, Charlee and Virgil Peerson.
She leaves behind her husband, Bill Hughes; daughter: Melissa Petroski, husband Larry, and Pam Joffrion, husband Mark; son, Michael Brent Hughes, wife Connie; six grandchildren and one great grandchild; sisters: Reba Reed, husband Roger, Peggy McGrew, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2021 in the chapel of Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland with a service to start at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, TX.
