She spent most of her life in Texas City and she also lived in Tulsa, OK. FeeDee graduated from Texas City High School in 1951.
After graduation, she worked for a shoe company. Her job sent her traveling from Lake Jackson to Beaumont in search of sites for the shoe company to start a new store. Her sister said she was very good at the job.
In the early 1960’s she married Kenneth Carter. They lived in Texas City and enjoyed spending time at their place in Lovelady, TX. While married they took an interest in the Oral Roberts University and made several visits to the Tulsa area. Kenny died in 1983. After his death, FeeDee moved to Tulsa. She lived on the Oral Roberts campus and volunteered at the Victory Christian Center and Oral Roberts Hospital. The CBN 700 Club was one of her favorite organizations.
While living in Tulsa, she met Robert A. Born at a Thanksgiving gathering of friends in 1988. They were married in June of 1989 in Lovelady, TX. The couple moved to Texas in December, 1989. When they moved to Texas City, they became members of the Abundant Life Christian Church. Their ministry was visiting and speaking The Word to the residents of Hearthstone Assisted Living.
In 2015, FeeDee fell and broke her kneecap. After surgery, her mind started to fail her. In 2018, it became necessary for her and Robert to require assistance in their daily lives. The Lord led them to Jackie Banks who became their caretaker. She loved our FeeDee and the family is so appreciative for her love and care. In, 2020, Cheryl Curtis and Jackie shared in taking care of our dear one. Ladies, you blessed our family!
