Patti Rae Porter Hopper
Patti Rae Porter Hopper was born on October 17, 1961 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She passed from this life on May 6, 2021, at M.D. Anderson Hospital. She is survived by her children, Joseph Porter Hopper (30), Hattie Lane Hopper (25), sisters Karen Porter Mendez, Vanessa Porter Newcomb, brothers-in-law John Mendez and James Newcomb, and nephew Matthew Porter Mendez (34). She is preceded in death by her father, William Horace Porter, and her mother, Dorothy Maureen Paige.
Patti began her legal career when she joined the Public Finance Section at Vinson & Elkins in 1989. She was promoted to the Legal Assistant Program in 2000. Patti was one of the brave souls who took the leap to Allen Boone Humphries Robinson LLP when it was formed in July of 2003. Patti worked with many of the senior members of ABHR for 32 years. She was an excellent legal assistant, who was dedicated to her firm, her clients, and to the work team she loved so dearly.
Patti loved gardening and rescuing stray dogs, cats and birds. She was an avid LSU football fan, loved tailgate parties and Mike the Tiger. Patti had a dry sense of humor and a sharp wit which earned her the title of Chief Skit Writer for the infamous ABHR Christmas parties. Her Top 10 Lists were legendary! More than anything, she was unwaveringly supportive and proud of her children and loved them with every fiber of her being.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the Ballroom at the Junior League of Houston, 1811 Briar Oaks Lane, Houston, Texas 77027. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in her name to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Patti, I miss you so much already! Love you and wish you and your family peace and comfort. Geaux Tigahs!

I Loved Patty. She worked with me for all 32 years she worked as a legal aid. She was much more then that. She was my brain, my sounding board and most of all my friend. She will be missed every time I call a Cinco meeting to order, and she will keep me in order. I will miss her greatly.
