Stuart Mark Monteleone
Stuart Mark Monteleone, 57, passed away on March 14, 2021 in Houston, Texas. He was born on November 19, 1963, in Huntsville, Alabama, to Frank Joseph Monteleone and Ruth Eunice Schumann. Stuart is survived by his wife, Olga Monteleone, and daughter, Mary Monteleone, who miss him very much.
Stuart earned a mechanical engineer degree from the University of Houston. He loved working in aerospace, he worked as a safety engineer for APT Research, previously also for SAIC and Lockheed Martin.
Stuart loved driving fast cars and working on them. Stuart was always the life of the party and the leader of the group when things were difficult. He always gave good advice based on his vast experience and knowledge and he would find a way to lift the spirits of his team or friends when things were not going well or as planned.
Stuart was always willing to help, always there for everyone in their time of need and he could talk for hours when trying to resolve a problem together with his team. His knowledge of electronics, computers, engines, and engineering in general was the best. His hands-on approach to things, the desire to always learn and share what he has learned and especially his engaging laugh will be missed. Rest in peace, Stu, you will always be in our hearts.
Stuart’s Graveside Service will be held on March 20, 2021, at 10 am, at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
I am so sorry to hear about Suart’s passing. I enjoyed working and talking with him in the office. I will miss him.

Stu was a wonderful guy to work with. He was kind and gentle and smart and very helpful to the people that he was bringing through the safety panel at NASA. I will miss him a great deal.
I was deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Stuart. I really enjoyed working with him over the years while working at the Johnson Space Center. He was a very energetic and “can do” person with a great sense of humor. After all of this time, I never knew that we shared the same birthplace of Huntsville, Alabama. I am sorry it never came up during any of our conversations.
The world is a lesser place without him in it.
I did not know Stuart by name but I knew him as the nice man who never failed to smile and greet when passing by in the office. My condolences to his family. Rest in peace, Stuart!

Stuart was a good friend and excellent engineer. He was fun to be around. We had great lunches together. I will miss him. My prayers are with Olga and Mary, he loved you and was dedicated to you.
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Stu’s death. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to meet Stu in person but I did talk to him a few times on the phone. He was a valuable part of APT and we will miss him. He got accolades from his customers on a continuing basis and I know his family must be very proud of the man he was. My prayers go out to his family. God Bless them and be with and help them during this time of grief.
I have known Stuart for about 36 years and he was a groomsman in my wedding. He was a great friend of my husband, David and they spent many hours together just hanging out, playing games and living life. He was also a great friend of mine and I am really going to miss him. I pray for Olga and Mary as they will miss him so.
Stu was a great guy and a wonderful friend. I can still hear his laugh. I truly enjoyed working with Stu, and will miss him very much. I know how much he loved his wife, Olga, and daughter, Mary. Just after Shuttle ended, Stu had the opportunity to be a stay-at-home dad, and he often spoke how much he loved every minute of being with his family. My prayers and condolences go out to Olga, Mary, and all of Stu’s family.

I was shocked and very saddened to hear of Stuart’s passing. I did not work directly with him, but I talked to him occasionally for work. He was always so nice and so easy to talk to. He will be missed.
To know Stu was to love him because he touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of working with him and calling him friend. I am greatly sadden to hear of Stuart’s untimely passing and my heart goes out to his family! You are in my prayers daily for the comfort and peace that only God can provide in times like this.
I remember meeting Stu back when he worked shuttle and about a decade later we eventually worked in the same group. We both graduated from Clear Lake High School so it was always fun to swap stories since we were there at different times. He always had plenty of stories to share. Stu was such a nice person and he will be missed. My condolences to the family! I’m praying for strength, peace and comfort during this difficult time.
Stuart was such a delightful person to work with and helped me tremendously with assigned projects here at MSFC. He will be truly missed. Sending the family God’s Grace and Shalom Peace during this difficult time.
I am so shocked and saddened by this news! I was out on vacation and am just receiving the news while catching up on my emails. Stu was full of energy and ALWAYS had a smile on his face and he always had a way to make you smile! We worked together on several payloads over the years for safety review panels. I will miss him. My condolences to his wife, daughter, family and friends.
Stu was a wonderful person to work with and to know. We met in the days of Shuttle when I was green to all of NASA and noted his positivity and kindness. I enjoyed working with him on the ISS Program these past few years and will miss hearing his joviality. Be at peace, Stu – you were a bright spot in our world.
