My cousin James who was like a brother. Cousin James was like a brother to many of us. We all grew up together. As a child I remember him being there for me at Holy Ghost School. All the cousins would gather together at our grandparents house, especially on Sunday’s. We enjoyed playing outside and spending time together as a family. Unlike today’s kids, all of the cousins knew each other. James had a fun loving character He laughed a lot. I remember him writing from Vietnam and saying that he was eating bullets day and night.my grandmother said “Lord what is that child eating?” We told her momma you know James he loves to joke. James was a kind spirited person. If he could do something for you he did it. James was long suffering. Even in his sickness, when we would talk to him, he wouldn’t complain. He was a soldier for Uncle Sam and he was a Soldier for God. He fought a good fight and has finished the course that God laid out for him. James can now rest from his labor and wait for the trumpet to sound. The word says the dead in Christ will rise first. So, I say to our beloved cousin James, Rest from your labor until you receive your reward.
Love cousin Beryl
