Candy Renee Banda, of Texas City, TX passed away on November 12, 2020 in Texas City at the tender age of 47.
Candy Banda was born on July 24, 1973 in Savannah, GA to Clyde and Jean Deem, Sr.   Mrs. Banda grew up in La Marque, TX where she was a stellar athlete in any sport she picked up, a phenomenal dancer, and friend to all whom she came in contact with. Candy would then travel to live in several cities throughout Southeast, TX after she became a dedicated wife and mother to her two beautiful children.
Candy devoted her life to her family. Her personality was a beacon of light to those around her. Her passion to teach others and being a part of growing those around her led her to become a teacher.
As Candy worked hard towards her degree, she did her best to stay involved with the community and her kid’s sporting events. When she wasn’t studying or in the classroom learning, she was a substitute teacher, volunteer coach for her children’s teams, a bus driver for the local school district, and anything else she could do to keep active and spend time with the loves of her life, her family.
Growing up Candy loved playing sports, softball being her favorite. Through her hard work ethic and passion for the game, she was able to continue her softball career as a college athlete for Ranger Junior College.
After receiving her degree, Candy started her new chapter in life as a school teacher and coach. Her passion for caring for her own family carried over into her work where she would care for her students as if they were her own children.
The last position she held was a Teacher and Coach for two years at Troup I.S.D. where she taught Physical Education and drove a bus for the school to make sure her students made it home safely.
When her time at Troup ISD came to a close, Candy devoted her remaining time to being the best mother a child could ask for. Driving all across Texas to be at any event her children were involved in, cheering them on, and being their source of smiles and laughter for the rest of her years.
Mrs. Banda is preceded in death by her mother and first best friend Jean Deem. Candy is survived by her wonderful father Clyde Robert Deem, Sr.; loving daughter, Jordan Alicea Banda; kind-hearted son, Joshua Aaron Banda; caring sisters: Cindy Childs and Christie Thorp; strong brothers: Bobby Deem and his wife Tammy and Chris Deem and his wife Jennifer; along with many more loving extended family members.

There will be a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 17, 2020 at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson.
Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, TX.  Pallbearers serving will be Joshua Aaron Banda, Bobby Deem, Brad Childs, George Banda, Corey Barb, and James Deem, Jr.
