Gary Kuecker
Gary Lee Kuecker, 64, of Friendswood Texas passed away peacefully on November 5, 2020 following a battle with heart disease. He was surrounded by several members of his loving family. Gary was born on November 6, 1955 to Leebell and Audrey Kuecker in Cuero, Texas. After graduating in 1974 from Cuero High School, he served in the Texas Army National Guard as a first Lieutenant. In 1980, Gary obtained his B.S. in geological sciences at Texas A&I in Kingsville, Texas. After graduation Gary began working at Sullivan Exploration in Corpus Christi. While in Corpus Christi, Gary fell madly in love with his roommate’s older sister.
In 1986, Gary and Diane were happily married and began a 34 and a half year adventure together. Soon after saying “I Do”, the couple moved to College Station, Texas where they both worked diligently toward their second careers. Gary obtained a masters degree in Tax Accounting and a CPA license from Texas A&M University in 1989. After Diane finished vet school, the couple settled in Friendswood, Texas. In 1996, Gary and Diane welcomed their daughter into the world. Alexis was the light of his life and his whole world revolved around her. Gary loved his girls more than anything and spent much of his life making sure that they were well taken care of, even as his health began to fail.
Gary had many passions in life and deep relationships with friends. For 18 years, he owned an accounting firm in Clear Lake with his partner Carol. He loved his job and especially enjoyed getting to know his clients personally over the years. Gary was an avid outdoorsman. Whether he was grilling, hunting, fishing, traveling or at sporting events, Gary loved spending his time outdoors with family and friends. He was actively involved with the CCA and served on the National Board as the Finance and Compensation Chairman and locally as the Treasurer. He was passionate about being able to contribute to their mission.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Leebell and Audrey Kuecker; sister in law, Bernadette Kuecker; uncle, Ed Clark; aunt, Laverda Oehlke; uncle, Darwin Oehlke; uncle, Charles Kuecker; aunt, Gloria Lunder; uncle, Marvin Luder. He is survived by his wife, Diane; his daughter, Alexis; his three brothers, David (Marsha), Steve (Sally), and Glen (Rochan); his aunt and uncle, Vernell and Chuck Berkovsky; his three nephews, Daniel, Clifton, and Bryan; and his four nieces, Audrey Kay, Vanessa, Sydney, and Alicia.
A memorial service for Gary will be held at Friendswood United Methodist Church on November 12th, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. The church has requested all attendees please wear a mask. Any questions regarding the service should be addressed to Crowder Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Coastal Conservation Association where a memorial fund has been established in his honor.

To the Kuecker,
I am so sad to hear about Gary’s passing. I just came across his name and wanted to reach out and discovered this sad news. As a fellow CPA belonging to the CPA MAP group, it was so much fun brainstorming ideas with him and the group. Not only was he a great person to know, he was also a fantastic CPA. He will be missed by all of his CPA associates, clients, and colleagues.
