Dr. Hemant Kapadia
Dr. Hemant Kapadia, age 60, went home to Heaven Tuesday, September 15, 2020 in Houston, Texas. He was born in Lusaka, Africa on January 14, 1960.
Dr. Hemant Kapadia received his dental degree in 1983 from the University of Birmingham Dental School, in Birmingham, England, and then continued his surgical residency at The Birmingham General Hospital in Birmingham, England. He subsequently emigrated to the United States and, in 1987, he completed his degree of D.D.S. at the University of Southern California, School of Dentistry (U.S.C) in Los Angeles, California. In 1992, Dr. Kapadia completed his Postgraduate residency in Endodontics at U.S.C. School of Dentistry in Los Angeles, California. Since 2008, Dr. Kapadia was in private endodontic practice in Lakewood, California, and was a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Endodontics at U.S.C. School of Dentistry. Dr. Kapadia has received numerous teaching awards, including a fifteen year teaching award from the University of Southern California, where he has taught since 1987. He is also a member of the Harbor Dental Society, the California Dental Association, American Dental Association, Greater Houston Dental Society, and the American Association of Endodontists Dr. Kapadia has lectured at The Harbor Dental Society (2001), and also at the Spring Scientific Session held by the California Dental Association (2006).
In 2002, Dr. Kapadia was appointed by Sheriff Lee Baca of Los Angeles County, to serve on the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Advisory Council. In 2004, Dr. Kapadia was also appointed to the Orange County Sheriff’s Advisory Council and sworn in to serve with the Professional Services Reserves at the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. With a keen interest in the forensic sciences, Dr. Kapadia has also served in the Forensic Division at the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Dr. Hemant Kapadia is survived by his beloved Raj and his two children Leela and Naresh.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland, TX. Services will begin Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 10 a.m. followed by a cremation.
Our sincere condolences and prayers for his soul to Rest In Peace. Dr. Kapadia will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, friendly, vibrant and warm person. He was full of life and indeed a great soul despite the health challenges always had a positive attitude towards life and wished the best for everyone around him.
I’m saddened to hear of Dr. Kapadia’s passing, he will be greatly missed. He was always so cheerful and happy. My deepest sympathy to all of his loved ones.

I will treasure and hold close all the memories you have given me and count myself blessed when things remind me of you, because they’re not reminders of sadness but reminders that despite how young you died, you lived a full life. I will love you forever and you will forever be my daddy.
Just found out. A school friend of mine. Shared many happy memories with him whilst boarding at RGS Worcester: “It muz be uz Kaps”.

I am saddened to hear of Dr. Kapadia’s passing. He was my Dr. about 6 years ago and was genuinely kind and patient with me.
Listening to Led Zeppelin, a song lyric reminded me of Kappers at RGS. Decided to look him up, only to find this. I remember that he was always impeccably dressed with not a hair out of place, and he had a wicked deadpan sense of humour. His courage on the rugby field was matched only by his speed. Hey dad, it’s me. It’s crazy how it’s been over 3 years since you’ve passed, and still can’t fathom that you’re gone. I hope one day I can live up to your legacy and make you proud, and won’t stop working to achieve even a fraction of what you did. And to anyone else who’s had experiences with him, or knew him, my condolences to you all. Thank you to all the friends and found family that helped him be the cheery, loving, guy I knew. I miss you dad, and will always love you.
