Alvaro Prado III
Alvaro Prado II, 77, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on August 07, 2020 at his home. Alvaro was born in Mexico on April 27, 1943, to parents Alvaro Francisco Prado Sosa and Maria Luisa Fernandez Riveiro.
Alvaro was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed music, food, soccer, and travel but family took precedence above all else. He was the man of the house; provider, courageous, strong, dependable, structured, involved, supportive, honest, and playful. He loved and adored his family, and the felling were reciprocated; their home often filled with lots of stories, laughter, music, and dancing. There was not a dull moment, especially on weekends when he would take the family out on an adventure after first waking everyone with his over the top singing while playing his beloved accordion before making them breakfast.
Alvaro wrote his own rules and paved his own way. To press and progress was his action. Routine was a stalemate to him, unless it was a good one. Alvaro lived thousands of years in the 77 calendar years he lived his life. Education and the continuous search of knowledge was of the utmost importance to him. He was intelligent, proud, loving, practical, innovative, musically inclined, and well-traveled.
Alvaro taught when he had little background to teach. He often told unbelievable but true-life stories, and often said that if his life was turned into a film, it would be a box office hit that no one would believe was based on true events. Through his stories, he imparted life-long lessons. He also instilled strong morals through his implementation of structure, hard work, and his unique form of demonstrating love.
Alvaro was entirely self-made, worked and traveled through Mexico, Europe and the US. “The world is a big place. Enjoy,” he would say. Respect and manners came natural to this worldly man. Diversity is the spice of life and he loved his spice! His only enemy was fear and ignorance but he understood that there was a solution to most problems. He was a problem-solver who often took on difficult projects at work and around the house; there was nothing Alvaro couldn’t do. Often saying, “with a dash of tenacity, a sprinkle of confidence, a splash of ganas, no problem is out of your grasp.”
Alvaro loved ALL his children so much that he spent many years searching for his long-lost sons, Eric and Kevin, from his first marriage. He was finally able to reconnect with them more than 30 years later; his heart was complete.
Alvaro is preceded in death by his parents, Alvaro and Maria Prado; brothers: Jose Miguel Prado and Jose Luis Prado; son in law, Patrick Brown; granddaughter, Annabelle Fisher.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Silvia Prado; children: Kim Brown, Pearl Fisher and her husband Christopher Fisher, Aline Prado, Eric Prado, Kevin Prado, Alvaro Prado III, and Kip Prado; grandchildren: Kyra Brown, Jenna Brown, Javier Prado, Maya Prado, Ian Brown, Evangaline Brown, Sylvie Bond, Apollo Fisher, Abraham Fisher, and Axel Fisher; siblings: Rosa Maria Prado, Beatriz Prado, and Jaime Prado.
Alvaro will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. To his children, he often reminded them of a simple declaration; “Together you all are stronger, never cause harm to one another, and protect each other.” He truly was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and firm understanding of what was important – living a life surrounded with those you love, family.
