The main things I remember about my grandma is her playing on the piano while we sang Amazing Grace. The fact the she had the most amazing light around her no matter what was going on. She is the reason that no matter what is going on with me I am always trying to help in anyway I can. She was always ready to give anyone in need any help she could. I love you Grandma and will strive to live my life the way you showed us how to. Enjoy your time up there with Grandpa we will see each other again.
Did you know that mom used to pay the pipe organ piano at the local church across from the sub-division (I think that is correct)? The pipe organ piano sounded wonderful in the church. However, mom never realized that the music could be heard for MILES around! Entire communities were listening to mom play the pipe organ for many months on end. She was just practicing! Finally, one day, she decided she had enough fun playing and quit playing it. Not one time, in all that time, did the church get a single complaint. Well, that is until she quit playing! People were calling in from all around and wanted the music back. So, finally the church had to contact mom about returning to the church to continue playing. She turned them down because she was tired. Then the church told her WHY they needed her back. She got so embarrassed because she never realized that her playing the pipe organ was being heard outside the church. She didn’t realize (in her opinion) that people were listing to her playing so POORLY? Mom was hard on herself to say the least! She never returned to playing the pipe organ. But she was very good at it!
