  3. I consider fortunate enough to work under the leadership of Paul during 2004-2005 in Singapore chemical plant. He was a great leader and helped me in shaping my career during toughest part of my professional life. Although my aquintence with him was only for a couple of years, he had a profound influence in my career success after i left ExxonMobil. After 15 years, I still remember his words “Surya, follow your dreams and move forward confidently. You can do it”
My deepest condolences to his family members for their loss. May his soul rest in peace🙏🙏🙏

  9. This picture captures Paul’s spirit so well! I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I worked with Paul several times over his career-while he was a section supervisor at the BTCP, at BOP, while he was in Singapore and at the BRCP. I have so many fond memories of him-his competence, sense of humor and how FUN he was to work with. One of my favorite memories was sitting in management meetings and watching him banter endlessly with his boss-Paul P. Losing Paul is a huge loss. Thinking of you and your family ❤️

While we rejoice for Paul on his new beginning of an eternity in God’s presence, Carolyn and I are so sorry for the loss that you are enduring here on Earth and we pray that God will provide you with comfort to ease the pain of loss and the strength to manage the tough days that lay ahead without Paul’s presence and company. I will also miss him very much. I was so looking forward to your return to this area so Paul and I could continue our great friendship and resume the awesome times we had that were interrupted by your move to Singapore and later, Baton Rouge. I will always remember our days working together at BTCP with genuine fondness. May he Rest In Peace until we meet again.

    • Lisa, sincere prayers and sympathies are with you and your family. I was among many who had the honor of working with and becoming friends with Paul (and with you). He was an awesome manager. Much was accomplished but he also made work enjoyable and fun. He always strived to do the right thing and above all, he was a good man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him but I’m sure our loss in no way compares to yours.

  17. Fondly remembered, 11 years ago in SCP board room meeting developing pandamic flu BCP. Paul was seated alone west side of the long table while 8 of us were seated east side. Then Paul asked, why none of you sit over this side. I told him that the scale was balanced. He then said “Steven, i am gonna charge you with harassment, are you saying that I am fat?” with his usual sweet smile of course. I told Paul, “I wasn’t referring to the weight scale, I was referring to salary scale sir” You can imagine his laughter after that….i am sure Paul is in good hands of the Lord.

  26. Lisa and family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Paul was definitely one of the great leaders and an even better person, that i have worked with in my career at ExxonMobil. I first worked for him when he was the Northwest Chemicals SLS in the late 90s and i was a young engineer. I still laugh over some of those experiences with Paul, but also the many great leadership lessons. I can still hear his voice as I recall these memories. While working in Baton Rouge, I was so thrilled to hear that Paul was coming to take the site manager role. He was the perfect fit for that role and the right person at the right time! His leadership style and personal touch made a lasting impact on me and so many others through the years. I always looked forward to times that i could catch up with Paul over the years. He will truly be missed by all of us that he worked with and helped as leaders. He had a profound impact on the lives of so many people across the globe.

May God bless and keep you and your family during this most difficult of time.

Thank you for your clear, and firm guidance! May you rest in Peace. Deepest condolences from me and baby Ese to his family.

  30. I feel deeply saddened by Paul’s passing away so suddenly and so early. In my mind memories of my association with Paul Stratford in Singapore during 2006-2009 will always be very memorable. He was a charismatic leader who had the ability to draw maximum potential from his people. We went to India together in 2006 for recruitment and I can still remember the wonderful time we had going to short excursion trips and having dinners together. We got to know each other much more on a personal level. My sincere condolences to Lisa and family. May he rest in eternal peace.

  35. Paul’s contributions to SCP and developing the Singapore workforce is unmeasurable. Personally I benefited greatly from his leadership and mentorship over the years. Remember fondly that day in the console when I first joined the company and trying to explain to Paul, the Olefins Plant Mgr then the fouling trends and how the heat load index is affecting overall furnace firing and production. After a good 30 mins, he smiled and reminded me he is a forest engineer, but he trust the PF is in good hands….His humorous but firm leadership has always been something I greatly admired. One of the best people leaders I have met

My sincere condolences to Lisa and family

  41. Lisa and family,
Words alone can not express how shocked and saddened we were to learn of Paul’s passing. It was way too soon…. We grew up together at EM working in offices beside each other and I feel fortunate to have worked with him off and on throughout our careers. He was a fantastic person to work with and a great friend. We always enjoyed our banter but worked hard to achieve outstanding results along the way. He really did excel at every assignment at EM, but for me his years as plant manager of BRCP were his very best. He was the leader to bring that site back to the highest stature in the Chemical Company. While he worked hard, he was also very focused on taking care of his family and I know you will all miss him terribly. Our hearts and prayers are with you…..Paul and Jane

We were so saddened to hear about Paul. I’ve known Paul for almost 40 years starting from our days in Baytown. He was great to work with, and I will always remember his great sense of humor. He genuinely cared about people and everyone loved Paul as a result. We really treasure the years we spent together in Singapore. Paul was taken from us much too young. But he left quite an impact, and there are many of us who will always value our interactions with him.

Paul will always be remembered as a compassionate and fun-loving boss. All my years working with Paul had been one that provided leadership insights. Every year without fail at the end of the year, he will make time to walk around wishing everyone “Happy New Year”. I fondly remembered that he will come by my work cubicle, greet me and jokingly remind me that “Simon, you can do better in keeping your cubicle tidy and neat” (with an big wide smile in his face).
We will miss you Paul and knowing that you are with the Lord, enjoying eternity.

  50. Lisa and Family,

My sincerest condolences. I really treasure the time working with Paul in Singapore, he is the great leader with courage and caring of people. He influenced the generation of employees in Singapore Chemical plant including me. Paul has sense of humors (his famous quote “I’m the forest engineer”) and always used magic numbers to drive team for stretching results (he was proud of his full scores in SAT Math). Sad he left us too early, may his soul find peace.

  53. Lisa and family,

Our sincere condolences on the passing of Paul.

It is our fortune to work with Paul Stratford when he was in Singapore.

We have learnt many things under his leadership and mentorship.

He was an excellent leader, a leader lead by examples. And he could get things done by his subordinates willingly and wholeheartedly. He was able to draw maximum potential from his subordinates.

An excellent communicator, he always started a conversation with a smile or a joke or an ice-breaker. Making his subordinates at ease.

It was a joy and fun learning to watch him giving presentation. A skilled orator.

A kind person and fun person to work with or work for. He had a natural sense of humor. He loved to crack and share his jokes to others. To make everybody happy.
