Alicia-Azalea “Zelie” Salvino Patlan
Alicia-Azalea “Zelie” Salvino Patlan, was born into the world on July 19, 2020 in Houston, TX, and blessed her family with her love before returning to our Heavenly Father on July 27, 2020. Zelie gave and received an incredible amount of love in her short life. Her experience on earth was of holding hands with her mommy and daddy, hugs and kisses from her family, listening as her mommy and daddy sang her songs, and being told “I love you” an uncountable number of times.
She leaves behind to cherish her love: her parents, Charles John Patlan, Jr., and Roxanne-marie Patlan; sister, Zara Patlan; brothers: Maximus Patlan, Blaise Patlan, Raphael Patlan, and Lorenzo Patlan; grandparents: Charles and Anita Patlan, Sr., and Regidor and Carolina Salvino; great grandmothers: Mary Townsend and Herminia Salvino; aunt, Zharleen-Ann Brantner, husband Eric; uncles: Sean-Kyle Salvino, Joshua Patlan, Jacob Patlan, and Michael Patlan; godfather, Ryan Jimenez; godmother, Nancy Martinez.
Sweet Zelie had a bacterial infection in her blood which we believe she had since birth. Her little lungs filled up with fluid, which caused her to stop breathing. Zelie received CPR for one hour until she was resuscitated. That amount of time without oxygen caused her to have severe brain damage. After a two day stay in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, her body gave up fighting, and she passed away in her loving father’s arms. We want to thank everyone at Children’s Memorial Hermann for taking care of our baby girl.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church in Pearland, TX. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the Ronald McDonald House of Houston.
