Robert was all about spending time with family and friends. weekends were about barbecues, football, camping, skiing, cruises, and family gatherings. He never missed an opportunity to be with his family and friends. Robert loved life. He was adventurous, spontaneous, funny, and loved to agitate. He was always there for anybody that needed him. Robert enjoyed working on projects with his brothers-in-law and telling stories around the fire pit. He had an infectious smile and sunny disposition. Robert loved to sing. It didn’t matter that he couldn’t carry a tune, he just sang louder. He loved spending time with his new granddaughter. He had so much living still to do, but at 47, his life was cut short. Robert is forever young, forever loved, and forever in our hearts.

  13. Robert was our friend since about 2008. I met him at work. He was in sales and I was the technical guy. We started making calls together and became friends. Soon, my wife became closer to him than I was. Online games with the band of friends at Ventil put her in communication, daily. We did not expect him to be taken away so soon. He will be forever remembered. May we all meet again, someday. Robert was a mentor for me when I was changing roles. I was a mentor for him on other things. He was a good man, father, grandpa, brother and friend. I pray all who knew him keep their memories for a lifetime.

  20. I am so sorry to learn of this. Robert was such a special guy – intelligent, fun and funny, interesting to talk with and interested in others. I remember that he had serious kidney problems at birth so I think we’re lucky that God gave us these 47 years to enjoy him, his smarts, and his sense of humor. Thinking of all of you with love.

  21. Robert – (Bobby to me) – was my first nephew – As a kid I remember playing with him all summer long. As a kid Bobby was not always healthy but you would have never of known it. He was always smiling, energetic and his laugh was contagious. As we grew older – he moved to Houston and I stayed in Memphis and we did not see each other often but when ever I did – He was always the same great natured guy – always full of optimism… I hope all that were so close to him can find peace.

  23. Almost 4 years ago when I joined Ventil, I was welcomed by this smiling man who was more than eager to show me he did and the great aspirations he had to continue growing our little company in this corner of the world. This enthusiasm was infectious and even though he worked extremely hard to ensure all his customers were ‘better than they deserved’, I can say this was only the surface of who Robert was.

What I would come to know, is at work he was a mentor to the younger folks by imploring them to look out for their future by working on their credit scores, creating savings accounts, investing whatever they could into their 401k’s, etc, while also offering his time to them to do these things. He was the chef that got a select few of us at the office to be Guinea Pigs to his latest concoctions of smoked meats, spicy sauces or Gumbos. He was the first to send notes to each one of us on special occasions such as Birthdays, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Holidays. He was the co-chair event coordinator for any Ventil gathering as he wanted to make sure all had fun and felt appreciated.

During company events or just when I had to bring my kids up to the office, he made sure to take the time to interact with them such as play ping-ping and show genuine interest whatever tv show they may be watching. One last thought I will share is I know he was one proud grandfather. We all joked around about what he will be called…papaw, pawpaw, granddad, the Godfather (poking at his Italian heritage), etc. No matter the name choses, he was just super proud and joyful of his next title in life. As was on my first day, this enthusiasm was infectious.

My family and I offer our sincere condolences and prayers to Christine, Maria, Chance and Ariana, as well as, the rest of Robert’s family and friends as they grieve the loss of such a caring person.

  24. hi! this is Rachelle Burgins I am Robert Vecera’s aunt. it is very comforting to hear from you. i do not know if you remember me.

  25. I have worked with Robert in Houston as well in the Netherlands as we were colleagues at Ventil. Had the pleasure to meet his family and had diner at his house, wings, one of his favorites. When he was in the Netherlands we had a BBQ at my place with my family and had a great time together. Went to many places together and I was always impressed how easy he could start a conversation with about everybody!
I still cannot believe he is not there anymore.
My deepest condolences to the family. You are in my thoughts during this difficult time.

    Hendrik Jan van der Does
