Minnie Bell Williams, 104, of League City, Texas, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on March 1, 2020.  She was born on March 7, 1915, to Marsh Henson and Dora Ellison in Beasley, Texas.

Williams believed in living life to it’s fullest. Her hobbies were dancing, drinking margaritas and playing the slots at the casino. “My secrets to living a good life are a lot of dancing, having fun, going places and a margarita on the side,” she said. “By doing these things I have discovered the fountain of youth.”

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Hugo Williams, brothers Willie, Alec, Johnny and sister Mildred. Williams and her late husband, Hugo, were known in dance halls across Texas as Mom and Pop Williams. Dancing was a big part of their life. She met Hugo while working as a dime-a-dance girl in downtown Houston, they would marry in August of 1939.

She is survived by her 3 daughters Betty Bryant, Barbara Sutton, and Nancy Primeaux, 10 grandchildren Leisha Hart, Deanna Wilke, Darien Tunnell, Stacie Fano, Rhonda Johnson, Patrick Baggett, Kimberly Martin, Karla Pedrique, Heather Green and J.T. Garrett. Williams also had 24 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Minnie Bell Williams was a unique and wonderful woman that left everyone’s hearts full of joy. Her legacy will live on in the one thing she valued the very most, her family.
