Leonard Wayne Smith
Leonard Wayne Smith, 66, of La Marque passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019. He was born June 4, 1953 in La Marque, Texas to Leon and Joyce Smith.
He attend La Marque High School, he was a Welder for 40 years, and a member of 1st Christian Church of La Marque.
Leonard is preceded in death by his father, Leon Smith and brother, Michael Smith. He is survived by his loving wife Leslie Payne Smith, mother, Joyce Smith, daughter Amber Wolfe Welch, son Ayden Mize, mother-in-law and father-in-law Leonard and Gayle Payne, half-brothers; John Bargerstock and Robert Bargerstock, his grandchildren; Taylor Wolfe Collana (Aaron), Kenzie Lee Gonzales (Jeremy) and Gage Wolfe and his great grandchildren; Lenny Collana and Jace Gonzales, he is also survived by several aunts, nieces, nephews and an abundance of friends.
A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00pm on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the VFW Post 8248 901 Main Street La Marque, Texas 77568.

Leslie, I am so sorry to hear about your husband, Leonard! I didn’t know or remember him since he was several years older than I am; but my thoughts & prayers are with you & your entire family! I do know how very hard it is & just what you are going through. I lost Larry this year also & it has been very hard, I just have to lean on God every day for strength to get through & my friends & family has helped a lot. Let people help you whenever they offer. That has been a real hard thing for me to do. I pray that you will somehow find comfort & peace through this difficult time!
My prayers are with Leslie and Joyce and all other family members. Lenny was a sweet and kind soul.

Lennie was my modern day “Daniel Boone”. I loved, loved the stories of his experiences he lived in the wilderness. He was always was so kind, sweet, funny and real. Most of all, he loved hard. I will truly miss him in my life and very happy my dear friend Leslie had the blessing of bringing him in her life as much as ours!!!
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family, and friends who knew Lennie well. He will surely be missed by many, as I know he touched many lives during his lifetime of adventurous journeys. I know he watches down upon us with a warm heart and spirit. May he rest in peace.
