Dan Gerdes, 79, of La Marque passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at his residence.  He was born February 7, 1940 in Deanville, Texas to Albert O. and Ruby Lee Gerdes.

He was a resident of La Marque for over 65 years. Dan was in the United States Marines and was part of the Presidential Honor Guard for President Kennedy.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents and his son Gregg Gerdes. He is survived by his wife Karen Gerdes, two sons; Mark Lloyd and wife Ann and James Lloyd and wife Olga; brother Garnett Gerdes and wife Mary, his two sisters; Gail Gerdes Harden and husband Bob and Sandra Lee Gerdes Leatherwood and husband Steve and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Visitation will start at 1:00pm on Sunday, December 8, 2019 with the Memorial Service to follow at 2:00pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque with Pastor Bradley Drake officiating.
