Barbara Quiroz

Barbara Quiroz, 79, resident of Galveston, Texas went home to be with her beloved Jesus on November 14, 2019. She was born June 24, 1940, to proud and loving parents, Russell and Bertha Bridges in Akron, Ohio.

Barbara loved helping people. She pursued a career in social work.  It wasn’t long before she accepted a position as the Executive Director of the Women’s Crisis Center of Galveston, TX.  It is there she found her true calling.  Barbara remained there for over 15 years.  She instrumental in implementing the “Stalker Law” in the State of Texas.

Barbara leaves behind to cherish her lifetime of memories, daughters, Beth White and husband Jerry, Nannette Domonkas and husband Steve, Heather Jackson and husband Scott, Katrina Csonka, and Linda Perez; son, Russell Csonka and wife Jessica; sisters, Nancy O’Brosky, and Marimargaret Reichert and husband Richard; twenty- eight grandchildren and forty- five great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Jesse Quiroz; Son Jude, Grandson George, and Granddaughter Jessica Anne.

Funeral Services to be held at The Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church, 300 FM 517 Rd., Dickinson Tx 77539, on November 21, 2019.

In her Honor, a Rosary will be recited starting at 10:00 AM, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Immediately following the Funeral Mass all are invited to travel to the Houston National Cemetery for the Burial which will take place promptly at 2:00 PM. All Services are under the direction of Crowder Funeral Home, Dickinson, Texas.

Barbara has requested that instead of flowers, to honor her by making a donation to your local Women’s Crisis Center.

  1. I thank God that He placed Barbara in my life. She and Jesse were an inspiration for me. May God grant all of Barbara’s loved ones the strength and comfort that you will need to continue living on this earth until we are reunited with her in Heaven. She is now in Heaven with Jesse and so many other loved ones who were waiting for her.

  2. Sending my Prayers to Family & Friends… Ms. Barbara was a sweet lady… I met her thru Paula Cravy “Old Provider” and worked for her a little while… Gone, but NEVER Forgotten! R.I.H {Rest In Heaven}
